Pilates for Pregnancy

Pilates for Pregnancy focuses on the changing needs of your body throughout pregnancy.

Using a system of body conditioning, based on the principles of correct postural alignment, deep muscle strength and physical balance, Pilates can help you physically manage your pregnancy, including:

  • Minimising and releasing lower back pain;
  • Preventing and controlling Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD);
  • Building shoulder stability;
  • Strengthening the Pelvic Floor;
  • Relaxation and breathing;
  • Circulation; and
  • Labour.

Pilates after birth is invaluable to repairing pelvic floor muscles and deep abdominal strength. At Exceptional Health, Karen can suggest safe exercises for immediately after pregnancy to help get you back into shape.

Pilates for Pregnancy class will start Tuesday 7th August at 6pm.

Pilates for Golfers

Pilates is a system of body conditioning based on the principles of correct postural alignment, deep muscle strength and physical balance.

Your golf pro might say, 'swing like this.' But if your body can’t do it, your swing can’t progress. Pilates conditioning can facilitate the physical changes your body needs to move forward. With regular practise you can gain:

  • Core strength –abdominals and back;
  • Improved spinal alignment;
  • A balanced body;
  • Shoulder and pelvic girdle stability;
  • Stamina and endurance; and
  • Hip Mobility and Flexibility.

All of these can help you hit the ball farther, straighter and more accurately over all 18 holes.
