Hello, I’m Claire and I am the director of Exceptional Health based in Canary Wharf.

Exceptional Health is a complementary therapy centre which specialises in allergy testing amongst a lot of other therapies.

Now, I can honestly say that although many of you may feel that I am some hippy, dippy therapist that is anti allopathic medicine and thinks that we are the key to health, you would be quite mistaken!

I can’t deny I have had moments of complete hippy, dippiness but putting a crystal on your head and saying you’re well is really not my thing (although I am not saying crystal healing does not work!) After working at a clinic in the city for 10 years and working at one of the top 5 banks for the last 8 years, doing aromatherapy massage, I feel I know what the stressed out corporate worker is wanting!

The reason I want to do this blog is to give you some insight into a different view on health, plus it’s fun and keeps me out of trouble!

Well here’s something for you which will please a lot of doctors out there! The other week I got sick, well, actually really sick, I thought I had flu as it is not like me to take to my bed. So I took all my remedies, even dragged myself to work to look up my symptoms and get different remedies, was still sick! It was the bank holiday weekend and I was due to go to Liverpool, well decided to go Friday night (I did not drive) and my partner’s mother looked at me, told me I looked like death and I was going to the doctors in the morning! You know the look on her face; I knew that I was not going to be able to protest!

So, Saturday morning, there I was in the out of hours doctors surgery in Liverpool! I did not have flu; I had severe tonsillitis and was put on penicillin. Come Tuesday I was back at work, bit tired but otherwise full recovery!

So, you see, I am not anti medication, I needed it, and after suffering from tonsillitis at least twice a year, my last bout of it was 12 years ago and I was treated straight away with homeopathy and within hours the pus on my tonsils had gone and I have not had it since. By the way had a fab chat with the doctor who was really into complementary therapy and wished it was mixed in more with allopathic medicine, one day!

So there you have it, I went to the doctors!
